Does Exactly What I Was Looking For, We recently switched from PC to Mac, I was looking for a way to use my old PC speaker sets (a Logitech 5.1 system) with my new iMac. This is the only product I've found that does exactly what I was looking for, so that the connector can make green, pink and orange from the speaker system with four speakers Wave and use these instead of the iMac built-in speakers. The sound is much better and can be much higher. It 'a shame that this product has been discontinued and that no one else has created something to replace it.
It 'nice that connects to the FireWire port on your iMac and the power requirement from the iMac, so there's no extra power cord or power. One important thing to know is that with the new iMac, which has one FireWire 800, while the wave Quattro accepts only 400 then you need to get a cable that has a connector 800 on one end, with 400 other . The only thing I like about it is that makes a sound high shrill ring (which probably has to do with power supply). It forced me to have to hide under my desk on the ground, so I can not hear. Not a major problem, but because when everything is connected, is not as if I never need to touch it or watch it because it just makes something with more difficulty. Indeed, it is to maintain land that does not mean I have to look to the bright LED on the front of … So maybe not a bad thing after all …
